A Modular Approach

The first headset from HTC to include the Vive Reality System. This is a brand new UI interface developed by HTC that makes it easier to shift between reality and virtual worlds. It offers a new UI called Lens that will allow users to explore the Viveport Infinity apps, new dynamic home space, and XR apps. The Home space is called Origin and it will be a launchpad for all VR apps and other experiences.

Fully immersive. Tailored for you.
From seamless application transitions to our pass-through camera features, you’ll move effortlessly between virtual worlds and your real world. Spatialized sound design with advanced 3-dimensional audio places you in the heart of the story.

It’s all possible with VIVE Reality System.

“Origin is a highly polished UI focused on teaching new users how to get comfortable in VR. This experience is better in just about every way... ”

Vive Origin, a highly polished UI focused on teaching new users how to get comfortable in VR while giving veteran VR users all of the tools necessary to quickly jump between apps and games. It's unlike anything I've ever seen HTC do in terms of VR UI, and having used and frankly not enjoyed Viveport, that's a good thing. Origin is sleek, highly-stylized, and focuses hard on being the entire UI. You can still access Steam VR if you want to, but I struggle to imagine why you would unless you really enjoy the social features. This experience is better in just about every way, and will make showing new users the VR basics easier. And like other VR home experiences, this space is both yours and permanent. If you walk around leaving doodles across your environment, they stay. If you leave your toys out, they stay. This is your space, and that includes cleaning up behind yourself.
